Foundation 2’s Youth Shelter (located at 3015 12th Ave SW in Cedar Rapids) recently had a makeover.  The talented Dori Patrick (from the Dreaming Bear in Marion) painted beautiful murals in the front of the shelter.  Now the first thing that youth and families experiencing crisis see when they enter our shelter are cheerful message of hope.

We are excited to share these messages of hope with you!  Please join us for an open house at the shelter from 12-2 PM on Thursday, May 26th.  We will have light snacks available and will offer tours of the new murals.
During this event we hope to raise $3,600 to fund future art classes for shelter residents.

To help us plan for this event, please RSVP on this page or by contacting Elisabeth Kissling at (319) 362-1170 or ekissling@foundation2.org.

This is an open event, so feel free to bring a friend or co-worker.  We look forward to seeing you there!

If you can’t attend in person but would like to support the cause, please visit our campaign on CrowdRise!

Update! We have permission from the landlord of property on the corner of 12th Ave SW and Edgewood Road (1201 Edgewood Rd) to use their parking lot during our open house. Due to limited parking space at our shelter, please plan to park here. Avoid spaces next to the building due to construction. Foundation 2 staff will shuttle guests from this parking lot to the door of our shelter every 5-10 minutes.
