Dear Friend of Foundation 2,
?Did you know that in the United States one person dies by suicide every 13.7 minutes?
?Or that more Americans die by suicide each year than are killed in car accidents?
?Did you know that youth between the ages of 12 and 17 are at higher risk for homelessness than adults?
Of all residents of Foundation 2’s Youth Shelter, 43% reported mental health issues and 40% a history of physical abuse.
But You Are Not Alone
Foundation 2 offers immediate phone counseling for all ages and emergency shelter for youth 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our array of services also includes Mobile Crisis Outreach (for those in Linn County), an after hours food pantry, a support group for suicide bereavement survivors, family counseling, therapy services and independent living services for young adults.
Foundation 2 has been standing with people in crisis since 1970.
Because of Your Support
“My son keeps your crisis line programmed into his phone; he’s called once on his own and once with me. It’s great having someone to talk to who actually knows what to do.”-Crisis Services Client
“I want to let you know how important the crisis line has been to me. I really suffer from depression and anxiety. All of the people that answer the phones are so kind to me. God Bless You.” -Letter from a client of our crisis line
“…I really appreciate what you guys did for me and for the support ’cause believe it or not it has changed a part in my life that I needed help on…” -Letter from Former Shelter Youth
“Foundation 2’s Food Pantry has been extremely helpful. When I have nowhere else to turn for help, this place has been very helpful. I think this is a wonderful program for people in need of a helping hand during times of low to no income.” -Food pantry client
