Recently our Depression and Anxiety and Survivor’s of Suicide Support Groups ran out of space in their current location so they moved to the group room at the Foundation 2 Administrative Office. Though this room is spacious, the lighting is poor and group participants commented on the need for better lighting to make groups a more comfortable experience. Foundation 2 staff determined that two floor lamps would brighten the room and create a pleasant environment. I posted the need for donations of floor lamps on our website and also listed the donation need on Twitter and Facebook. One week later we received a call from a woman who had just moved to the area- she had two extra floor lamps in her garage and had been looking at local websites for a place to donate them. What a perfect match! I am grateful for the opportunity to spread information about Foundation 2 through so many venues and stories like this remind me of the power that our website can have.
