Volunteer
From our first days, Foundation 2 has depended on volunteers, and we continue to
welcome community members interested in volunteering with our agency.
There are several options for you to consider, based on your interest and time availability.
If you enjoy face to face contact with a wide variety of people, you may want to consider helping out with our After Hours Food Pantry. We need help early evenings during the week and afternoons on the weekend. We have a special need for food pantry volunteers on Friday evenings from 6 to 7:45 and Saturdays from 1-4 PM. Contact our Food Pantry Manager at 319-362-2174 or
cmartensen@foundation2.org to ask about food pantry volunteering. This volunteer opportunity is at our Crisis Services location at: 1540 2nd Ave SE in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
If you enjoy building relationships with at-risk youth, you may want to consider helping out with our Street Outreach Services (SOS) or Transitional Living Program (TLP). SOS needs volunteers to assist with our Tuesday night Drop In from 4-6 PM and our Open Office Thursdays from 3 to 5 PM. Foundation 2's Transitional Living Program needs volunteers to assist with tracking and to move furniture when youth move to a new apartment.
