Overnight Crisis Counselor at Crisis Center

Description: Part-time overnight employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 Crisis Center.  Duties include providing counseling to clients of all ages who call our crisis/suicide lines, as well as answering the 211 Information and Referral line.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in human service discipline with 5 years’ experience providing mental health services or human services; or a Master’s Degree in a mental health field; or a psychiatric nurse who has three years’ experience providing mental health is required. Crisis intervention experience with adults is preferred.  Computer experience required.  The applicant must pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2.

Part-Time Mobile Crisis Outreach Counselor

So What is Mobile Crisis Response ?

Mobile crisis response and stabilization services are instrumental in defusing and de-escalating difficult mental health situations and preventing unnecessary out-of-home placements, particularly hospitalizations. Mobile crisis services are available 24/7 and can be provided in the home or any setting where a crisis may be occurring. In most cases, a two-person crisis team is on call and available to respond. The teams are comprised of professionals who are trained in crisis intervention skills and in serving as the first responders to adults, children and families needing help on an emergency basis. In addition to assisting individual or family with the current crises, the team works with them to identify potential triggers of future crises and learn strategies for effective coping.

Description: The Mobile Crisis Outreach (MCO) team provides mental health crisis services around-the-clock, 365 days a year for children, adults and families.  The MCO team is called following the initial contact with our phone crisis counselors to be dispatched to locations within Linn County for face to face crisis counseling in homes, schools and other settings throughout the community.  Day, night, evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in a mental health related field including, but not limited to psychology, counseling and guidance, psychiatric nursing, psychiatric rehabilitation or social work from an accredited university or a bachelor’s degree in a human services discipline from an accredited university and at least five-years’ experience providing mental health services or human services; or a psychiatric nurse who has three years of clinical experience in mental health.  Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by Foundation 2's automobile insurance company and pass all background checks.

Full-Time Counseling Supervisor at Crisis Center

Description: Full-time employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 Crisis Center.  Duties include providing counseling to clients who call our crisis/suicide lines.  Supervise and evaluate staff.  Provide back-up coverage in rotation with other Crisis Center staff.   Complete monthly reports, update resources, and assist with training as needed.  Evening and weekend hours required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field and five years’ relevant experience.
  • Or Master’s degree in a mental health field including, but not limited to psychology, counseling and guidance, psychiatric nursing, psychiatric rehabilitation, or social work;
  • Or psychiatric nurse who has three years of clinical experience in mental health;
  • Comfort using basic computer software.

1-year supervision experience and crisis intervention experience with adults is preferred.

Back-Up Food Pantry Position

Description: Employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 After-Hours Food Pantry that provides food assistance 365 days a year to those in need. General responsibilities include scheduling food appointments, data entry, unloading HACAP donations, stocking shelves, bagging food, and pick up food orders from HACAP. The position is on an “as needed basis” and requires a flexible schedule during day time hours and possibly during the evening to fill volunteer position.

Qualifications: Proficient in computers, flexible in availability, compassionate with clients and works well with diverse populations. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and climb steps. Must possess a valid driver’s license, be insurable by Foundation 2’s auto insurance and pass all criminal and child abuse background checks.

Part-Time Educational Tutor

Description: Employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 Youth Shelter, a 17 bed facility that provides a safe environment for young people ages 11 – 17 in crisis. General job duties include coordinating and facilitating educational and learning activities for youth clients and offering homework support. In addition, the tutor must also take into consideration the emotional and behavioral needs of the youth clients and act as an effective team member. The position is Monday through Thursday evenings during the school year for 2-3 hours a night.

Qualifications: Education and Experience: BS/BA degree in human service or education related field along with one year full time experience working with youth in at-risk situations or AA degree in human service or education related field along with 2 years full-time experience working with youth in at-risk situations. Applicant must be able to pass background checks completed by Foundation 2.

Description: Employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 Youth Shelter, a 17 bed facility that provides a safe environment for young people ages 11 – 17 in crisis.  General job responsibilities include providing supervision and support services for youth residents and operating as an effective team member.  Shift specific tasks include ensuring shelter operations are meeting client needs, as well as documentation, communication, transportation, meal preparation, and building maintenance must be completed each shift.

Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a human service field and 1 year full-time experience working with youth/families in at-risk situations or AA degree in human service field and 2 years equivalent full-time experience working with youth in at-risk situations.  Must possess a valid driver's license, be insurable by Foundation 2.  Inc.'s insurance company and pass all background checks.  Computer experience required.

401(k) Retirement Plan

A 401(k) tax-sheltered retirement plan and a Roth 401(k) is available for regular full-time and part-time employees under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  There are several different investment options available. Employees decide how much to invest and where they want it invested. After one-year of service, eligible full and part time employees receive an automatic contribution by Foundation 2 that is in addition to their salary. It is not a match. No other contributions are necessary to receive this contribution.
