Part-Time 211 Information Specialist at Crisis Center

Description:

Employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 Crisis Center.  This is a part time evening and weekend position answering information and referral calls.  This position’s primary function is to answer calls for the United Way 211 service.  The 211 information specialist will determine the callers’ needs and the best available resource(s) to meet those needs.  This will include providing callers with appropriate information and referral services using a variety of databases and the internet.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have above average communication skills, experience and comfort using computer databases and be able to keep accurate records.  High school diploma or GED is required.  Some college and experience in Human Services preferred.  The application must pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2.

Part-Time Weekend Crisis Counselor at Crisis Center

Description: Part-time weekend employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 Crisis Center.  Duties include providing counseling to clients of all ages who call our crisis/suicide lines, as well as answering the 211 Information and Referral line, and making follow-up calls to past clients of a treatment program.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in human service or related field or Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field and 5 years relevant experience is required. Crisis intervention experience with adults is preferred.  Computer experience required.  The application must pass all background checks completed by Foundation2.

Back-Up Food Pantry Position

Description: Employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 After-Hours Food Pantry that provides food assistance 365 days a year to those in need. General responsibilities include scheduling food appointments, data entry, unloading HACAP donations, stocking shelves, bagging food, and pick up food orders from HACAP. The position is on an “as needed basis” and requires a flexible schedule during day time hours and possibly during the evening to fill volunteer position.

Qualifications: Proficient in computers, flexible in availability, compassionate with clients and works well with diverse populations. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and climb steps. Must possess a valid driver’s license, be insurable by Foundation 2’s auto insurance and pass all criminal and child abuse background checks.

Part-Time Educational Tutor

Description: Employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 Youth Shelter, a 17 bed facility that provides a safe environment for young people ages 11 – 17 in crisis. General job duties include coordinating and facilitating educational and learning activities for youth clients and offering homework support. In addition, the tutor must also take into consideration the emotional and behavioral needs of the youth clients and act as an effective team member. The position is Monday through Thursday evenings during the school year for 2-3 hours a night.

Qualifications: Education and Experience: BS/BA degree in human service or education related field along with one year full time experience working with youth in at-risk situations or AA degree in human service or education related field along with 2 years full-time experience working with youth in at-risk situations. On-Call Mobile Crisis Outreach Counselor

Description: The Mobile Crisis Outreach (MCO) team provides mental health crisis services around-the-clock, 365 days a year for children, adults and families.  The MCO team is called following the initial contact with our phone crisis counselors to be dispatched to locations within Linn County for face to face crisis counseling in homes, schools and other settings throughout the community.  Day, night, evening and weekend hours.  Must include Friday or Saturday 6:00 pm – 12:00 am.

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in human service or related field and a minimum of 5 years of counseling experience or a MA in a mental health field.  Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by Foundation 2's automobile insurance company and pass all background checks.

Back-Up Youth Shelter Youth Specialist

Description: Employment opportunity available at Foundation 2 Youth Shelter, a 17 bed facility that provides a safe environment for young people ages 11 – 17 in crisis.  General job responsibilities include providing supervision and support services for youth residents and operating as an effective team member.  Shift specific tasks include ensuring shelter operations are meeting client needs, as well as documentation, communication, transportation, meal preparation, and building maintenance must be completed each shift.

Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a human service field and 1 year full-time experience working with youth/families in at-risk situations or AA degree in human service field and 2 years equivalent full-time experience working with youth in at-risk situations.  Must possess a valid driver's license, be insurable by Foundation 2.  Inc.'s insurance company and pass all background checks.  Computer experience required.

401(k) Retirement Plan

A 401(k) tax-sheltered retirement plan and a Roth 401(k) is available for regular full-time and part-time employees under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  There are several different investment options available. Employees decide how much to invest and where they want it invested. After one-year of service, eligible full and part time employees receive an automatic contribution by Foundation 2 that is in addition to their salary. It is not a match. No other contributions are necessary to receive this contribution.
