Anticipation of Celebration
I am excited to announce that Foundation 2, Inc. will turn 40 years old on July 6 of 2010. This is such a milestone for our agency that we have started to celebrate early. The Foundation 2 banners are currently displayed in downtown Cedar Rapids. We have also purchased some beautiful 40th anniversary seals to use on our outgoing mail. Although these are simple ways to remind those in our area about Foundation 2's long history with the Cedar Rapids community and beyond, we want to do more.
One of the ways that Foundation 2 has chosen to celebrate our upcoming anniversary is to compile 40 stories from individuals who are willing to discuss previous involvement with our agency. We call it "40 Years, 40 Stories." I am in the process of looking for people who are willing to tell their story about Foundation 2. Perhaps you used to volunteer for the crisis hotline in the 80's, or you were a youth at our shelter in the 90's. Maybe you used to be on our board of directors or you worked for our family counseling program. These are just a few examples of the sorts of people I would like to talk to for this upcoming promotion. These stories will be compiled on the Foundation 2 website, among other places yet to be announced.
I really appreciate your willingness to consider participating in our 40 Stories event. I can't wait to learn more about the history of Foundation 2 and to hear how our programs were able to touch the lives of others for the better.
